Ingredients:

  • 2 Bottles Flattened Wheat Beer (used Blue Moon's Spring Ale)
  • 1/3 C Honey
  • 1 t Jamaican Allspice
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 t Kosher Salt
  • 2 T Brown Sugar

Instructions:

  1. Mix ingredients together in a saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil and then simmer uncovered and reduce for 15 minutes
  3. Let cool to room temperature and place in refrigerator for a couple hours
  4. Put shrimp on skewers and pour marinade over shrimp and marinade for a couple hours in the refrigerator
  5. Grill shrimp over medium high heat, flipping after a couple minutes
  6. When shrimp are pink throughout, take off grill and serve

Results:

Goal here was not to create an overpowering marinade, leaving plenty of the flavor of the shrimp.  The shrimp came out perfect, with a nice light flavor from the marinade.  This recipe is a keeper and will do it many more times in the future.
